The ARUA Centre of Excellence in Post-Conflict Societies, Institute for Peace and Security Studies at Addis Ababa University, is pleased to welcome Dr. Deborah Damilola Adeyemo, from the University of Ibadan in Nigeria, as an Early-Career Research Fellow for 2023. Dr. Adeyemo was awarded the fellowship following an open and competitive process across the sixteen ARUA member universities.

The fellowship programme was initiated by ARUA to support Early-Career Research Fellows to undertake globally competitive research at the different ARUA Centers of Excellence located across the sixteen member universities. The goal of the programme is to strengthen the capacity of early-career researchers at African universities by giving them time away from teaching responsibilities at their home institutions while working with very senior and accomplished researchers.

Dr. Adeyemo will spend a year with the ARUA Centre of Excellence in Post-Conflict Societies, and during this period she will be given the opportunity to conduct research related to her existing projects, which primarily focus on transitional justice, and collaborate with the academic and research staff of the Institute for Peace and Security Studies, Addis Ababa University.
