The Migration, Urbanization and Conflict in Africa Research Project is supported by the UK Research and Innovation (UKRI). Initiated in January 2021, the project will run until December 2023. The general objective of the project is to explore the migration-urbanization-conflict nexus in nine African cities in Uganda, Ethiopia and Nigeria. The cities covered by the research are: Kampala, Kasese and Gulu in Uganda; Addis Ababa, Hawassa and Jigjiga in Ethiopia; and Lagos, Lokoja and Jos in Nigeria. The collaborating universities for the project are: Addis Ababa University; University of Lagos; Makerere University; and University of Sheffield.
